Dear Z,

My first daughter on your first year of life. It’s all about you, yet you taught me more than I taught you. Sometimes, I wonder, a lot of things like your wobbly walk, your genuine smile, your cue for hunger are all natural and came even before you understand my instruction. And here, I learnt to be your provider.

Your personality is becoming more define day by day. How much you would stubbornly put your eyebrows together if we offered you things that you don’t like. Trust me, at your age, I still know better even though you feel it otherwise. Still, me and your papa laughed about it despite at the time you hated your diaper’s changes clearly made us frustrated.

Z, you brought us so much happiness by just being your cheeky self and bubbly conversation. Life is not a race, but we do are waiting for the time when you can start to exchange your words with us. Maybe soon, maybe a bit later, but surely we will enjoy the process.

And that being said, you achieved so much. Much more than we expected since we only hope for you to live your life to the fullest and be healthy. For every step, for every milestone, and every little thing that you did, know that you are celebrated.

I hope you always know how much we love you.

From before, now, and later. Always and forever.
